![]() If you’d rather skip the 2006 nostalgia and don’t mind some explicit lyrics, I’d suggest that listening to the song alone might be the purest way to experience this classic. ![]() If you’re unfamiliar with Rick Ross or Hustlin’, you can get an introduction through the music video below, where you’ll see both the white on white BMW along with plenty of gold. The result has the appearance of realism in the gold reflection renderings, while maintaining the versatility of spacing allowed through the isometric layout. Using this tool, I was able to create a 3D typographic render that simply couldn’t be achieved if I were using true perspective. In the end, this was another fun exploration through the lens of Blender’s isometric camera. As such, it only made sense to accent the letters with a rich supply of gold. The color choice came directly from Hustlin’s lyrics: describing his 745 BMW as “white on white.” Finally, no one is more fond of yellow gold than Ross himself. My good luck continued when I posted to Instagram, as this was my first design to be noticed by Monotype (the foundry to create and release the update to Helvetica).Īs far as design decisions beyond typeface, I knew Rick Ross could only be represented as the larger than life figure he is with all capital letters. ![]() A bit of good fortune, by way of timing, created the perfect opportunity to test out the newly released Helvetica Now. So when I decided to pay homage with this isometric, 3D design, I knew I needed a typeface that was also a classic.
